How It All Started

Our Story

A love of craft beer, a big table, and the stubborn conviction that great local brewers deserve a bigger spotlight.

Craft Beer School started the way most good things do in Pittsburgh — somebody had a passion, a few friends, and enough stubborn enthusiasm to make it happen. What began as casual evenings of beer and conversation grew into something with a name, a mission, and a growing community of people who believe that knowing what's in your glass makes it taste a whole lot better.
The Beginning

A Kitchen Table Idea

It started informally — gathering friends, opening bottles, and inviting a brewer to explain what made each one different. The conversations never wanted to end.

Growing Up

The First Official Event

The first real "Craft Beer School" moved out of the kitchen and into a proper venue. A local brewery presented. Dinner was served. Every seat was full and everyone stayed too late.

Building Community

Pittsburgh's Brewers Got On Board

Word spread through Pittsburgh's tight-knit brewing scene. Breweries started reaching out to be featured. A real calendar started taking shape — and a real community along with it.

Today

A Real School, A Real Community

Craft Beer School now runs regular ticketed events, each featuring a different Pittsburgh-area brewery. The format is simple: great food, great beer, and the people who made it — talking about why it matters.

Proudly Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh has one of the most vibrant and underrated craft beer scenes in the country. Craft Beer School exists to celebrate exactly that — to shine a light on the brewers, the process, and the community that makes this city's beer culture worth raising a glass to. Cheers to that.
